“With reins in my hands, the horse of my dreams is unstoppable and under control at the same time.” — Simran Kankas

When I was a little girl, I did not have anyone with whom I could laugh and share things. Although there were plenty of children with whom I could play, my happiest and sweetest hours were spent in the company of loneliness, which bothered me a lot almost every day. I remember, one night, I was sitting alone on the porch trying to understand the reason for my lonely tears. My tiny mind and sad heart could not…

“While walking in life, you leave your footprints behind. Make sure you choose the right path. Someone might follow it someday.” — Simran Kankas

Dreams do come true!

Whenever I get confused about anything or feel overwhelmed, I pick up my pen and diary and start writing. Sometimes writing a poem helps me get the answer to the question running in my head at the time or a simple quote solves the puzzle. I can say with absolute certainty that writing is like a therapy to me.

“Keep on shaking your dreams. That’s the only way to to reach your…

A Short Story with Poetry

Dussehra is a Hindu festival. It symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.

One of the stories behind this festival is Ram’s victory over Raavan.

Raavan was the powerful king of the demons. He did penance for years to please Lord Brahma. As a result of which Lord brahma appeared and granted Raavan his boon where he asked not to be killed by gods, demons, or spirits. As time passed by, he got more powerful and arrogant. The demons began to disturb the sages and seers. …

It is all Attitude

I am mad at myself today
I remained silent that day
When they played with my emotions
and left me frustrated
Everything is peaceful around
still my heart is agitated

Maybe I am overreacting
or I am acting too late
I should have fought for my rights
instead, I chose to accept my fate

Life is simple
People make it complicated
Everything is peaceful around
still my heart is agitated

I was longing for their love
So I took the bait
Before I could get out
they closed the gate
I was trapped

It took me a while to understand…

A Giant leap forward is all we need in life

This place is so quiet
Yet screams of the past
keep me awake all night
I can’t sleep

I hear a voice
Out of the silence of the cosmos
A familiar sound from within
whispers into my ear
You have done it before
You can still do it

Whatever it is that hurts you
Have faith in your heart
Trust your spiritual self
Face it one more time
Breathe and take the healing leap

Everyday life gives us
A moment when a smile
tugs at the corners
of our mouth
Yet we find a thousand
reasons to weep

Hatred has…

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” — Albert Schweitzer

As I write the first letter of the new month, so many memories are coming to my mind. It reminds me of the time we have spent taking care of our very own Spiritual Tree and our spiritual self.

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” — William Arthur Ward

So, without wasting any…

A Spiritual Story about Healing

“I have a thousand reasons to complain and be mad, but I don’t know whom I should blame for my pain? Someone should be held responsible for the mess, right?” Cordelia said out loud.

“Is that how you think things should be done in life, or is it something you want?” Someone said.

Cordelia turned around, trying to figure out whose voice it was that sounded so familiar. She looked left and right, but there was no one. She kept silent for some time, but all she heard was the wind blowing through the trees, making a hissing sound.

Poetry Sunday

Many people gathered around
to say a final goodbye to me
those who were lost before
found themselves through me

It is my funeral
then how come
they look dead to me

I know these eyes
the shelter of selfishness
never came to see me
when life was still in this flesh

These eyes were glued
to many ignorant years
they could not see my pain
from under thick money layers

Now they are here
seeking my forgiveness
while shedding tears
and saying prayers

If only they knew
I loved them anyway
it is time for me
to leave now
I cannot stay…

“What you seek is seeking you.” — Rumi

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this month’s newsletter from Spiritual Tree. I apologize for the delay.

How are you doing? I hope life is treating you well.

Like everyone, I am also trying to keep moving forward and be still at the same time. I am learning to be in the moment, and be where I am.

Times are tough and we can only hope that the situation gets better. We can do one more thing- Writing and reading the healing words.

“I have been looking for a long, long time for this…

My words get me so excited
I find myself
rolling in euphoria
So what if this world is
full of bad people
My words help me
create my own utopia

So what if they leave me alone
My friendship with my words
will last forever
So what if they don’t let me speak
I can express through my words
and send my feelings in a letter

So what if my tears
are all dried up
My words can always
melt many hearts
So many oceans
flow inside them
that carry worlds
of natural art

Some people are biased
Some are jealous
